LYSO 4X4 Crystal Pixel Array (16 pieces) Hi-Energy Gamma Radiation Scintillator
This listing is for a quantity of 16 LYSO crystals in a 4X4 array!!! LYSO Crystals measuring 4X4X22mm each fixed in a 4X4 array. All sides of each individual crystal come polished, with pixels individually and collectively surrounded by PTFE Tape used as a reflector. The PTFE reflective and adhesive that holds it to each crystal can easily be removed if desired. Send me a message if you just want the quantity of individual crystals with no PTFE surrounding them. LYSO is a Premium Scintillator Material with very good energy resolution and guaranteed to work for radiation detection when coupled to a PMT and built into a probe. LYSO is denser than BGO or GSO with a specific density of 7.16 g/cm^3 that provides excellent stopping power for high energy photons. Much greater density than that of NaI(Tl) and is non-hygroscopic and safe to handle. LYSO is very durable and does not break easily. LYSO contains Lutetium that is slightly radioactive itself, so you have a very specific background in this material. When measuring low energy samples, this background can be subtracted, but is not always necessary. The individual crystals typically sell new at a price of $50 each.
